My Darling Kazia

I lost my best friend and best pupgirl last week, on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 3:15 p.m. She had a third pneumothorax, her second in a week, and I couldn't put her through the tapping, the week-long hospital stay, to come home for a few hours or one night and have to go back again. When I can face the ordeal, I'll write about the third incident so that information is out there to help anyone else who has to face this awful, dreadful, untreatable thing. For now, I just want to look at her beautiful face and remember her. Her AKC name was Promise's Sonora Desert Star, and I know she's up there now, the brightest star, but I would give anything, anything, to have her with me, even for just one more day.

Her sweetness, her fearlessness, her joy, her incredible intellect, her playfulness, her kindness, and her beauty. She was my once in a lifetime dog. My heart broke Saturday and will never heal completely again.

Until we meet again, my sweet Kazia.

  2. Patti...I am SO sorry about Kazia. She has been in our prayers right along and I had so hoped for a better outcome, as I know you did.

Gentle journey to your precious girl, and comforting hugs for you. I will light a candle for her.

  5. Patti, I can't tell you how sorry I am to be reading this. It's so hard to say good bye to these sweet, white fluffies. When they leave, they take a chunk of us with them. Hugs to you and Miko....glad you have each other.

  6. Beautiful beautiful pictures, fitting for a beautiful dog who deserved the best, which you gave her. I feel so terrible she left just too soon....

  7. I was looking at your posts to see what happened to your fur baby. Mine was diagnosed with the same thing yesterday, and I have been searching the web for information on it. It saddens me so much that I will will soon have to face the fact of losing my baby girl too :-( She is a 7 yr old female Husky named Bailly. They tapped her and got 1 liter of air. She is home now, but breathing is shallow, and she is coughing. They want over 6,000 for the surgery, which I can't afford. So I will have to say good bye to my beautiful baby girl. I will take many pictures, and videos of her so I can always remember her beautiful face.
