Christmas in May

Santa's local elf, a.k.a. A, left me three boxes of yarn in my carport the other day. It's mostly great acrylic in good boy colors, but as you can see, there are some baby yarns (enough to make one blanket, and some single skeins to edge fleece blankets), and a bunch of white and off-white to mix in with the boy colors to dilute them and make them seem less dark. I am set for the summer! Thank you, A! You are the best!

  1. I am experiencing an extreme case of yarn envy.

  2. Te he he! I have no idea how A finds these great estate sales, but she does. I found one yard sale that had one Rubbermaid tote of yarn (which I did buy), but she finds these sales with bags of yarn, great yarn--baby yarn, acrylic, wool--everything; entire stashes and craft rooms being sold. I have volunteered to go with her on her next estate sale run just to see how she does it.

She brought me 5 boxes of yarn two years ago--five! I made about 30 blankets out of that yarn for Project Linus. All I have left are 2 pounders of Aran, which I was thinking of using to make a crocheted tree of life blanket. Now, I have to reassess--that might be better spent mixed with some of these yarn to cut the dark color.

No, I will not share her with you! LOL!!

    1. Aw, c'mon! Share the yarn wealth! Or at least her secret, if she lets you in on it?

  3. Wow what a great haul! 'A' spoils you!
